This is a fascinating documentary. I've never seen so much detail about Bormann before, and it's very interesting that they're looking at the Third Reich through his and Hess' eyes. I hope they have part two!
Speer described Bormann in one of his books as, "devoid of scruples and built like a fire hydrant".
Been to Berchtesgaden four times and toured the grounds definitely a go to place if you like world war 2 stuff it’s amazing
Weak Leaders encourage their staff to compete with each other to be the favorite. This occupies these underlings from uniting against the weak leader. This also manifests in an inefficiently run organization as there is no strong direction or goals in the organization. Lack of results and staff in emotional disarray, a recipe for failure.
I have seen pictures of Bormann overseeing the removal of the roofs of the houses of people who didn't want to leave.
These are the best docos on this crazy chapter of history with excellent insights into the main players...

Silly. He wasn't at the Berghof all the time. In fact, after July 1944, he never returned. You should read Otto Dietrich's book, he mentions that Hitler was quite restless and traveled a lot before the war.
How blind could the world be not to notice germanys buildup....the projects were huge...
They didn't have satellite imaging in those days. No helicopters, no fast fighter jets, no spy planes that could fly at 70,000 feet. Outsiders could only rely on people who escaped and told, and for the most part, no one believed them.
